Customer Review

It was an experience like no other. I don’t think I’ll ever forget this.

Oh my goodness, this was one of the best dinners my daughter and I had while visiting Maldives. Each course was different and the taste was great. The view was fantastic too!

While we have been under water at quite a handful of aquariums, it was a great experience being under an Ocean. The set course meal price for the lunch and dinner were astronomical so we did the Champagne visit for about $125 per person. There was no kind of marine activity in the water which made us sad however, we got to see a shark up close. In all, it was a unique experience.

Aragawa restaurant was established in 1967 by Chef Jiro Yamada. This restaurant is Located in Tokyo,. Japan and is arguably the most famous beef restaurant over there. People call it the Kobe Beef Restaurant. Aragawa is one of the most expensive steak houses in the world and has its own very farm.  The Steak at this restaurant has been praised and said to be the best steak in the world due to their unique method of raising their cattle.

Although Aragawa has been said to be the most expensive restaurant as at 2016, its décor says something different. Contrary to Popular belief, this steak house doesn’t look anything like what an expensive restaurant should look like. In fact it looks so simple that unless you’re told, you’d never believe it was an expensive restaurant. Why? Because it is located in the basement of a Tokyo office building! There’s nothing like grand entrance here!

Usually the course meals in Aragawa features Sanda-gyu which is their specialty. There’s also a side of baked potatoes, a few carrots as well as some peas. Everything the restaurant lacked in interior and exterior décor, it made up for with an exclusive premium quality that no other steak house can match.

In addition, you should note that unlike every other normal restaurant, Aragawa doesn’t offer a tasting menu but rather a la carte menu. As a result of this, the final price of whatever you eat is being decided by you. However generally, eating in this restaurant costs about $260 – $370 per head.

One of the best meals of my life. The steak was divine, the melon was a surprise as well. By far the most expensive meal I’ve ever had but it was worth it.

Dennis McWilliams

I live in Texas. We have really good beef and are very proud of it. However, this right here was the greatest steak experience of my entire life.

Hakan Batur

Most likely the best dinner we’ve ever had. Both the service and presentation were top notch along with the food itself. Simply amazing! Keep in mind, it will most likely also be the most expensive dinner ever.

Ricky Jurey

My partner and I were here for our 10th anniversary and it was amazing! The food was exquisite and the service was everything for us. Luckily we met a few English employees and they accommodated us and treated us with respect.

This Restaurant is incredible. Although expensive, it was worth it!

Guy Savoy Restaurant

Guy Savoy Restaurant is owned by a French Chef whose name is Guy Savoy. He was born on the 24th of July, 1953 and has since lived in Nevers, Burgundy, France. Guy Savoy has two branches; one in Paris and another in Las Vegas, both of which are doing really great. However, for the purpose of this post, we will be focused on Guy Savoy, Paris, France.

The restaurant in France has about 6 dining rooms adorned with the best paintings and structure you can ever imagine. However, the beauty and the splendor of this restaurant is nothing compared to the chef’s joy whenever he gets to make a meal, an on-going tribute to French cuisine. Guy Savoy is of the belief that all chefs aren’t the same. In his words “All chefs aren’t the same. Their desires and ideas are related to their own sensitivity”.

The restaurant specializes in French and European cuisines. They also have some options for people on special diet such as Vegetarian Friendly, Vegan Options as well as Gluten free options. Guy Savoy offers a 13 course tasting menu. They have the best Caviar, Salmon and Salons too. To dine at this fine restaurant, you should have a sum of $385 to $626 per head

Customer Review

The whole experience was undeniably first class and although not every dish caused mountains to shake as much as I was expecting, it was an awesome experience all together.

I loved everything about this place. They seemed to pay special attention to details. It is extremely attractive but not flirtatious, creative but not fanciful, relaxed but does not lack tension. Just perfect!

Now this is what a 3 star restaurant experience should feel like! Effortless service, wonderful décor, super delicious meal, great customer relationship.. thumbs up!

Restaurant De L’Hotel De ville

This restaurant is the 6th on the list of 10 most expensive restaurants in the world! Don’t bother trying to pronounce it as it is quite a mouthful, even I can’t pronounce it…but then, if you have the money to dine here, who cares?!

If we are talking exceptional quality of food and dining experience, this restaurant is the best bet. Located in Crissier, Switzerland, it is headed by Chef Frank Giovanni who takes pleasure in giving customers the most exquisite experience ever. The restaurant was voted one of the top restaurants in 2019 by La Liste.

Restaurant De L’Hotel De Ville is a 3 Michelin star hotel that offers an 11 course tasting menu. Dining here should cost you about $415 dollars per head at the minimum. You get dishes like Fillet of Lamb, Pulp, “Salers” beef grilled with wild pepper, cristallines de Charlotte as well as Mussels with Saffron.

The best thing about this restaurant is the fact that every customer gets a complementary wine of their choice to go with their meal. Isn’t that amazing?! You will be given a forty Page wine list and you can make your pick from any of the listed wines completely free!

Came here with my wife for our 39th anniversary dinner and it was the best so far. The food was fantastic, the wine list was mind-blowing….we didn’t even know what to pick! This is definitely something I’d love to experience again.

Maison Pic Valence Restaurant

This restaurant started up as a family business but is now under the care of Sophie Pic. Sophie is one of the only females in the world that runs a 3 star Michelin restaurant. She is know for experimenting with her recipes  and using unusual flavors to wow your taste buds and eyes too. Maison Pic Valence is a very very old restaurant passed on from generation to generation and is currently 130 years old.

Maison Pic Valence offers a 9 course meal which includes Banon goat cheese Belington, deer marinated in sake lees squab, candied turnips as well as the best chocolate dessert you’ll ever taste in your life time. However, as the saying goes “, nothing good is for free”, to dine at this fine restaurant will cost you about $445 per person.

Customer Review

It was a fantastic experience, simply perfect, great food as expected as well we friendly but very professional staff. One advice though, I suggest matching your meals with the drinks.

I loved it! The food was amazing, nothing like I’ve tasted before. And the interiors? Very beautiful, super awesome view too. I enjoyed my meal and I think I want to do this again.

Masa Restaurant

This beautiful restaurant is located in New York City, United States and is headed by Chef Massa Takayama. Masa Restaurant, unlike any other restaurant is very simple and offers a simple Sushi tasting menu.

According to general reviews, there really is nothing special about this restaurant except that it is unnecessarily overpriced and you get to meet lots of A listers and celebrities. The restaurant has no specific menu as they just make use of fresh ingredients prepared by the chef usually available for only that day. Dining in this restaurant costs about $595 per person.

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone however, if you got cash and you don’t know what else to spend it on, do go for it. Who knows, you might get to rub shoulders with a lot of celebrities and A listers in return.

Ultraviolet Restaurant

This is the ranked 3rd on the list of 10 most expensive restaurants in the world! Unlike all other restaurants, the Ultraviolet Restaurant has just one table that can accommodate a maximum of 10 people. This means that only 10 people can be served in the restaurant at a time, isn’t this unique?!

Ultraviolet Restaurant is located in Shanghai, China and headed by Paul Pairet. Its aim is to give customers an all round experience; not just in term of food but their senses as well. They make use of audio and visual effects in the background as you eat giving you the feeling that you’re in a different space at a different time. No wonder it only accommodates a limited number of people.

Ultraviolet Restaurant costs about $570 to $900 per person excluding drinks and taxes (you get those separately). However with $900, you should expect a 10-20 tasting meal menu with each meal highlighting different ingredients and presented in the most creative way ever.

Asides the meal, the restaurant has the most number of employee to customer service as 3 employees are usually allocated to one customer. This is beautiful because the customer feels relaxed and is easily attended to swiftly. The restaurant also has 3 Michelin stars! Now this is somewhere I would advice you to spend your money on!

Per Se Restaurant

Established in 2004, Per Se is owned by a 2 time 3 Star Michelin restaurant owner, Thomas Keller. It is located in New York, United States and is mostly known for its exquisite flavor and exceptionally delicate presentation. Unlike the Ultraviolet Restaurant, this one has 19 tables that allows so many customers to dine at the same time. It also has a great view across Columbus circle and Central Park serving as some sort of entertainment.

Usually, Per Se offers 3 tasting menus in total not excluding a vegetarian option however, the most popularly ordered meal is the 9 course tasting menu. This menu mainly focuses on the French and American cuisine. Dining at this restaurant costs about $680 per head. Together with your meal, the restaurant offers an amazing wine collection with well over 2,000 bottles to choose from.

Now, unto the moment we have all been waiting for. If you have read up to here, you might as well check out the number one on the list of the 10 most expensive restaurants in the whole world!

Sublimotion Restaurant

Sublimotion is the most expensive restaurant in the whole world! It is located in Ibiza Spain and costs about $2,380 per person. That is well over the cost of any other restaurant in the world! The restaurant is ran by Paco Roncero and opens for a limited time mostly in the Spanish summer, June 1st to September 30th. They offer a 20 course tasting menu and if you are lucky enough to get a reservation, be prepared for the most amazing dinner experience of your entire life!

Sublimotion offers the best culinary-entertainment experience in the world and as a result received an Award fir the Nest Innovation Food and Beverage in 2014. You may be wondering, why is the service so special? Well, at Sublimation, you will be waited on by a team of 25 professionals who will present your 20 course tasting menu one by one, over the course of 3 hours. Yes, you heard right! 3 good hours just to eat. Whilst you’re enjoying your food, there are virtual reality element, projections and laser light shows to enhance your experience.

If you asked me, I’d say this is just an upgrade from Ultraviolet Restaurant. However in Sublimation, you receive an edible ticket as soon as you make a reservation and as tempting as it is, eat it after you’re inside, not before. If not, you’ll have to make a new reservation and pay whatever fee you’re charged.

I hope you enjoyed our compiled list on the 10 Most Expensive Restaurants in the world. So yeah, if you’re into classy, expensive food and exquisite décor, feel free to splash your cash in these restaurants. However for those of us who do not care, save your money for something more important!
